Today, I want to share with you the introductory text for a 1994 Chicago photography exhibition. It is nice to know that my love affair with photography continues.
Phases & Faces in Entertainment and the Arts
Since 1976, I have been working as a professional photographer. My initiation into the arena of serious artists began in 1979 with my first private show sponsored by a friend. In 1981, I had my first public exhibition at the Kenosha Museum in Wisconsin. These early shows focused me artistically and confirmed my ability to communicate my feelings through photography. By 1984, I began working full-time in photography, and I remain committed to the expression of my photographic vision. I joyfully share yet another view of this multifaceted thing we call life.
Phases and Faces in Entertainment and the Arts is selected from a body of work honoring people in the arts and the world of entertainment. Art, music, theatre, dance, literature are routes everyone travels to journey inward and mine feelings and experiences to create the works we decide will represent us to the world. The artists may be newcomers simply wanting to achieve their personal best, mid-career professionals struggling for louder, more resonant voices in their chosen discipline, or creative legends with special views from the mountain top. It matters not. We all have the opportunity to send and receive the messages of life and love through entertainment and the arts.
